How much does a FiveM server cost?Prices, performance needs and the items many people forget

A FiveM server costs from €7.99 per month with us. How much it ends up being isn't decided by the player count but by your server concept: a freeroam server with five scripts plays in a different league than a serious RP project with a framework, jobs and a hundred vehicles.

What really drives the price

In most games, world size decides the resource requirement. In FiveM, it is the quantity and quality of your resources - and at first, that has nothing to do with the player count:

  • The framework. A standalone server without ESX or QBCore needs a fraction of what a complete roleplay foundation with jobs, inventory and economy demands.
  • Custom content. Vehicles, clothing and above all MLOs sit in memory as soon as the server runs - regardless of whether anyone is standing in that building.
  • Script quality. A badly written script costs computing time permanently. The built-in performance monitor shows which resource uses how much.
  • The database. The more characters, vehicles and properties are stored, the more work every query involves.

That is why the honest answer to "is the smallest plan enough for me?" is almost always: it depends on your resource list, not on how many friends you have.

Which plan for which project?

ProjectWhyPlan
Freeroam, drift, racingA few standalone scripts, no framework, hardly any custom content.S
First RP serverESX or QBCore as the base, a manageable selection of jobs, a handful of vehicles.M
Active RP serverA grown script collection, custom MLOs, slots occupied around the clock.L
Serious RP with whitelistFully built out: many jobs, custom cars, a large database, high expectations of the tick rate.XL

If in doubt, one tier bigger: an upgrade is possible at any time, but a server that stutters on opening night costs you players who don't come back.

Costs many people overlook

The monthly price is rarely the whole bill. These items regularly come on top for an RP project - with us or elsewhere:

  • The database. Some providers charge extra for it or don't provide one at all, in which case you need an external one. With us, it is included in every plan.
  • Paid scripts. Ready-made job, inventory or HUD packages cost a one-off or monthly fee depending on scope - the biggest item next to the server itself.
  • A website or forum. For applications and rules, inexpensive web hosting is enough.
  • Your time. By far the biggest item. An RP server isn't a product you buy, but one you run.

What does not come on top with us: slots, traffic and DDoS protection. The player count isn't a price barrier, traffic is unmetered within fair use and the protection is part of the plan.

Prepaid instead of a contract

RP projects have a typical life cycle: an intense build-up phase, a few very active months, then either growth or a quiet wind-down. An annual contract fits this pattern poorly.

With us, you top up credit and the server runs as long as it lasts. No notice period, no automatic renewal, no reminders. If the project doesn't take off, you simply stop extending - the details are on Game servers without a contract.

If you are thinking about running several services yourself anyway, a look at our VPS plans is worth it - there you manage everything with root access.

Coming from another provider?

Then switching often pays off faster than you think, because moving mainly costs a quiet hour: upload the resources folder, import the database as an SQL export, adjust the connection details in server.cfg.

No. You set the player count yourself; it isn't a price barrier. The slot figures in the plans are recommendations that match the respective performance.

Yes, in every plan. A MySQL/MariaDB database is included and is managed via phpMyAdmin from the game server panel - no ESX or QBCore server would run without it.

You need a license key, but it is free. You create it yourself in the Cfx.re portal and enter it in server.cfg.
